Restorative Audio Transfer Services

The Transfer Lab at Video Park can transfer audio tape from many different formats. We go to CD or digital files like WAVE or Pro Tools session files. We can do different sample rates and bit depths. Our equipment of choice includes Focusrite, Pro Tools and Presonus with Ampex decks.

Save Your Reel-to-Reel Tapes!

Since the late 1940s millions of miles of audio tape have been recorded. Most of that tape is still in playable condition, depending on how it was stored. That tape will not last forever. But we can transfer audio tapes to save them.

If your audio tape is exhibiting Sticky-Shed Syndrome, I bake your tape to eliminate the problem prior to transfer. Many tapes from the 1970s exhibit this, and we have developed proprietary ways to restore your tape so it plays like new.

Playing your old reel-to-reel tapes on substandard equipment may damage them. A tape that has not been properly conditioned for playback may be destroyed during transfer as well. Facilities offering cut-rate prices do not have the equipment or experience to ensure excellent audio recovery.

Old Rock ‘n’ Roll?

In a band 35 years ago? We can bring back the memories and transfer those tapes to a hard drive for mixing.  Just think what the other band members will say!

Here is a timing chart to see how long your tape will run: Audio Timing
